A Sellindge road will be closed for nearly three weeks while workers repair damage caused by burrowing badgers.

Kent County Council (KCC) Highways has issued a warning to drivers that Hayton Road will be shut between Stone Street and Swan Lane from today.

A KCC spokesman said the badgers have 'undermined' the carriageway by burrowing underneath.

The work is expected to be finished by 6pm on Tuesday, May 17.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes.
