Kent Fire and Rescue called to Mortimer Close, in South Ashford, after garden shed catches fire

A shed and two houses were damaged in an early morning blaze.

Fire crews from Ashford were called to Mortimer Close, in South Ashford, at 1.40am today to a report a garden shed was alight.

The shed was severely damaged by the flames.

Two houses were also slightly damaged by the fire.

Two pumps were sent to the scene, and remained there for around 90 minutes.

The fire is not being treated as suspicious, and is suspected to have started from an electrical fault.

No one is believed to have been hurt.

Ashford fire crews were also called to High Halden, near Tenterden last night, after a barn caught fire.
