A trolley bay has been destroyed and three cars damaged in a bizarre crash in a Sainsbury's car park.
Shocked shoppers looked on as an out-of-control Vauxhall Astra ploughed into the trolley station at the Ashford supermarket.
Glass is scattered across the ground and the white hatchback has a crumpled front-end.
The crash, which saw other vehicles also suffer damage, happened at about 3.45pm.
A shocked witness said: "The car reversed and hit two parking bollards, then shot forward, turned, and hit at least two stationary cars opposite.
"It then veered to the left at speed and smashed into the trolley bay.
"That caused the trolleys to concertina up and the whole bay moved.
"All the glass burst and shattered everywhere. It all made a loud bang.
"Everything happened so fast, it was so lucky no one was putting their trolley in there at the time."
The trolley bay - located in the middle of the Bybrook store's car park - has been barricaded off, but the supermarket is open as usual.
Those involved in the crash are not thought to have been injured. Two people were in the car at the time.
Sainsbury's has been approached for comment.
