Police officers searched woodlands after shots were fired at members of the public near a hospital.

Officers were called to the woods near the William Harvey Hospital and Hinxhill on Sunday morning after reports that two 14-year-old boys were targeting people with a BB gun.

Police spokesman Jon Green said: "Officers have been patrolling the area and advising that carrying a soft air weapon such as a BB gun in a public place is an offence and could cause an injury."
