Charity shops across Ashford have been inundated with a whole range of weird and wonderful donated items, ranging from animal dung to sex toys.

The Hospices of Hope shop in New Rents is more than happy to accept clothes, bric-a-brac and children’s toys but feels differently when it comes to dirty underwear.

Manager Valerie Herbert said: “We get a lot of single shoes donated and we’ve even had dirty nappies and knickers handed in."

Assistant manager Patricia Gibbs said: “It was a sight to behold. We kept it for a while. We like to have something a bit weird hanging around. But it was thrown out when our manager was having a tidy-up.”
