Eurostar has said it doesn't know when Kent services will resume.

The company announced on March 31 that its trains would not be stopping at Ashford International and Ebbsfleet International stations due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Kent's Eurostar platforms remain closed after more than three months

Though a temporary measure, more than three months have now passed and there are no signs of their resumed use any time soon.

A spokesman for Eurostar said: "We are currently running a minimal timetable and are monitoring demand on an ongoing basis so will continue to update our timetable to reflect this."

For Kent travellers, a trip to London St Pancras is necessary to cross The Channel.

Eurostar tickets can be used on Southeastern trains for journeys to the London Eurostar terminal.

Last week, the government announced a list of 73 countries or territories that could be visited without requiring a quarantine upon return.

Despite countries including the US and Thailand not featuring on the list, popular short-haul destinations such as France, Spain and Italy were given the all-clear.

This easing has sparked a holiday fervour as people seek variety from their lockdown locations.

However it is not only British stations that have seen services stopped.

Any prospective holidaymakers wishing to travel by Eurostar to Lille or Disneyland Paris will have to wait, with the former service resuming on July 17 and the latter available from August 2.
