Tenterden Road crash: Homewood School student taken to hospital after four-car collision

A student had to be taken to hospital following a dramatic four-car collision earlier today.

One of the vehicles involved in the crash, which took place at 8.15am on Tenterden Road near Rolvenden, was a minibus used to ferry students to Homewood School.

Sally Lees, the principal at Homewood School, said: “Some of our students were on a bus involved in a crash in Rolvenden this morning.

"There were no serious injuries, but one student has been taken to hospital to be checked over. We have been in contact with the families of the students involved and are offering support.”

Ten emergency service vehicles attended the scene, with one woman being trapped in her car.

She was later taken to a London hospital by the air ambulance.

A spokesman for the air ambulance said: "We can confirm that we were called shortly before 8.15am today to reports of an collision involving two cars and a minibus at the junction of Tenterden Road and Rolvenden Hill, Rolvenden.

"Ambulance crews including our Hazardous Area Response Team, (HART), have attended the scene and were joined at the scene by the air ambulance service.

"A woman from one of the cars has suffered serious injuries and has been treated before being airlifted to Kings College Hospital in London.

"The minibus was carrying a number of children, two of which have been taken to William Harvey Hospital for precautionary reasons and further checks."
