Suspect accused of flashing next to historic war relic in New Street, Ashford

A suspect accused of flashing next to a town centre’s historic war relic has been arrested.

The 32-year-old is said to have exposed himself at 2am in New Street, Ashford, near the First World War tank stationed under a canopy, at about 2am on May 26.

The reported incident happened in New Street, Ashford

Officers carried out enquiries in the area and arrested the suspect who comes from Ashford.

He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A spokesman for the force said: “Investigating officers are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident on 26 May and either witnessed it or has dashcam footage which could assist their enquiries to contact us on 01843 222289 quoting 46/85993/24.
