Rochester man to appear in court after Ashford petrol station staff threatened and alcohol stolen

A suspected thief from Medway is to appear in court charged in connection with a disturbance in Ashford.

The charges follow an incident on Thursday evening, in which police were called to the BP garage in Beaver Road, Ashford.

Christopher Leech of Tupman Close, Rochester, is suspected of stealing alcohol and threatening staff at the petrol station.

The 28-year-old was arrested and charged with theft, possession of a knife and a public order offence.

He appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Saturday and was bailed to next appear at the same court on Thursday, April 29.
