Ashford's Asda supermarket has re-opened following a power surge.

Customers had to leave the Kimberley Way superstore following a system crash earlier today which affected the tills.

The shop was closed for around an hour and a half while the system was re-booted.

An Asda spokesman said: “Our Ashford store was closed for around an hour and a half due to a power surge affecting the system.

"We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused to customers and can confirm that the store is now open.”

It was believed that the power failure also affected the near-by Ashford Designer Outlet, although bosses denied this and say all shops are still open.
