Herat Khan, 18, due at Folkestone Magistrates Court on Wednesday following attack on 16-year-old boy in Ashford's Lower High Street

An 18-year-old man has been charged with grievous bodily harm following a town centre attack which left a teenage boy with multiple stab wounds.

Herat Khan, of no fixed address, was arrested on Saturday following the attack in Ashford's Lower High Street in the early hours of Friday morning.

He was charged today with GBH with intent and has been remanded in custody.

The stabbing happened near the fountain in Ashford High Street

Khan is due at Folkestone Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning.

A 16-year-old boy was found with multiple stab wounds near the fountain close to Sports Direct at 2.40am on Friday.

He was taken to a London hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is understood to be making a good recovery this week.

Police arrested two men, aged 20 and 22 shortly after the incident, as well as a 19-year-old man on Saturday.

All three have been released on bail until Monday, December 15.

Police are still appealing for information about the attack.
