A TEENAGER was left with three broken bones after a vicious attack by a gang wearing England shirts hours after the World Cup match on Saturday.

The 18-year-old, who did not wish to be named for fear of reprisals, was set upon by at least eight youths as he waited for friends in the Memorial Gardens in Church Road, Ashford, at about 8pm.

The 10-minute attack came after he challenged one of the men who grabbed a crate of beer he had with him.

"The lot of them just jumped in and beat me up," he recalled.

The teenager was left with a broken nose, cheekbone and wrist.

Two 19-year-old men have been arrested and bailed pending further investigation.
