A recycling centre is to close for three weeks so contractors can carry out safety works.
The Ashford tip on the Cobbs Wood industrial estate previously underwent a £5m redevelopment in 2013.
But the Brunswick Road site will shut again next month to allow Kent County Council to replace the concrete floor.
The authority says the work is needed because thousands of movements by heavy vehicles have worn the existing concrete surface away over the years.
The tip will close on Tuesday (September 1) and reopen on Tuesday, September 22.
KCC says kerbside collections by Ashford Borough Council will not be affected by the closure as the waste will be diverted to another site.
Ashford residents can book a slot at any of the authority's 17 other household waste recycling centres, including Folkestone, Canterbury and New Romney.
During the Ashford site's closure, KCC will carry out a full concrete slab replacement under its existing highway resurfacing contract with Eurovia, using its specialist concreting sub-contractor LMS.
The project involves removing and replacing 2,200 sq m of concrete slabs.
