Roadworks which blighted a town centre for weeks have finally come to an end - but are set to return next year.
Drainage upgrades in Elwick Road, Ashford, reduced the area outside the Elwick Place leisure complex to a single lane, with a give-way system causing delays for motorists.
The restrictions were finally removed on Friday, but crews are now set to return in January to complete the works.
A spokesman for Kent County Council (KCC) said: "The drainage works in Elwick Road are KCC works to replace all the damaged drains on the road which were causing a hazard to road users.
“The drain channels are being upgraded to a more robust product that is better suited to the location and will prevent future issues, providing a long-lasting repair.
“Due to the nature of the street, the works are taking longer to complete.
“Crews will have to return in January to complete the works and some other remedial works along Elwick Road."
