An Ashford company has appealed to residents to make its dreams of transforming an iconic sculpture into R2D2 come true.
Scott Randall, Star Wars fan and owner of Hairyhand Creative Agency, announced to his Facebook followers his dreams of turning the Bolt, in Elwick Road in to the Star Wars Hero.
He said it would be a great way to turn Ashford's 'rusty old bolt' into something special and a celebration of the upcoming launch of Star Wars: The Force Awakens release, this month.
Scott said: "I've always been a Star Wars fan and now I'm getting my kids into it too so we're all excited about the launch.
"I had the idea of doing something like this ages ago, it just came into my head and so I got one of the guys in the office to mock up an impression of it.
"I would really like it to become a reality and we've been looking at ways to make it happen, but there's always barriers with things like health and safety or planning.
"To be honest I would be happy with anything updating that rusty old bolt."
It seems giving the Bolt a makeover is becoming somewhat of an Ashford tradition.
The controversial artwork has already been a Christmas pudding, Easter bunny and a Halloween ghost.
What do you think of the proposed new look for the bolt? Should Scott and his team be given the green light to turn the Bolt into R2D2?
