Arrests after officers bust suspected drug deal in Brookfield Road, Ashford

Two people were arrested after a suspected drug deal took place "in front of police officers".

It happened at about 10.15am yesterday in Brookfield Road in Ashford.

Police arrested two people and following a search of a nearby property found suspected Class A drugs.

A 20-year-old man from London and a 40-year-old man from Ashford were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug.

They have since been released on bail.

Kent Police's Ashford team tweeted about the incident this morning, saying: "This is what happens when you deal drugs in front of police officers in Ashford.

"Two arrests and a property search later, we had two in custody yesterday morning for being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs."
