A secondary school has had to send two year groups home after two positive Covid-19 cases.

The Wye School, based in Wye near Ashford , confirmed yesterday that positive cases had been confirmed in Year 11 and Year 13.

It comes just weeks after the school experienced a similar situation , where its entire Sixth Form had to study from home after a positive test.

National statistics have revealed that 21% of secondary schools are not fully open due to Covid-19.

In most cases this is due to bubbles being told to isolate, and currently this figure is getting worse every week.

Already a large number of Kent schools have been affected .

No general visitors are currently allowed in Wye school at the moment, and its website directs parents towards the Department for Education coronavirus helpline.
