Hedge fire in Kennington

Neighbour Ted Prangnell said: “I first noticed that there were clouds of smoke and then I saw the fire gradually moving along the hedge.
“The fire brigade got there in time because it could eventually have reached the house the hedge belonged to.”

Firefighters now believe the blaze may have been started by vandals.
