A mother has called in two vicars to bless her house amid claims a violent demon has flung her from her bed.

Elizabeth Beaney says she has supernatural bruises after the phantom flung her around twice in the dark, causing her to scream.

Now the unemployed 39-year-old claims she is too petrified to return to her home in St Stephen’s Walk, Ashford home and wants Ashford Borough Council (ABC) to re-house her.

“It felt like I was grabbed one night, and I screamed out for help,” Ms Beaney explained.

“I was lifted off the bed twice and thrown down, which left bruises on my arm.

“It started weeks ago, and we’ve been everywhere but the council isn’t willing to rehouse me.

“No one’s been taking me seriously.”

The mother-of-two, who claims she has been forced to sleep on her eldest daughter’s floor for two weeks, has even turned to the clergy to help.

And so two vicars blessed the property on Tuesday during a small ceremony.

Ms Beaney’s daughter Maryanne told of her own perceived haunted encounters.

The 23-year-old, who lives in Hothfield village, likened her mum’s bruising to “whip marks” and unlike “anything a man or woman could do.”

She continued: “I stayed over one evening and saw a black shadow cross the room. If she’s crazy then I am too because I did see something.

“One day I knocked on her door and something shouted at me in my mum’s voice.

“When I called my mum, she said she wasn’t at home.”

Her daughter added: "We have tried everything to get her moved but no one wants to entertain the issue. The last few months, that place has been so dark and haunted."

By law, councils must give some priority for social housing to certain groups of people.

Typically it goes to vulnerable people and those who have lived in an area for a certain length of time.

A spokesman for Ashford Borough Council (ABC) says the authority is reviewing the case and deciding what support to offer.
