A video has emerged of a fire that destroyed a garage and a car, as well as damaging several other vehicles.

The blaze, in Willesborough, Ashford, started in a recycling garage late on Wednesday evening.

It is believed the fire, in the Ragland Court Flats area, was started on purpose, but the fire service is yet to confirm this.

In the video firefighters can be seen battling the blaze, which is sending flames shooting up into the night sky.

One resident, who wished to remain nameless, said: "It all started between about 8pm and 9pm on Wednesday night.

"We do believe that it was started deliberately. One resident has lost her car and another two cars were damaged.

"The fire service were fantastic when they arrived; things could have turned out a lot worse."

Police and the fire service have been contacted for comment.
