A woman has been arrested by police investigating reports of an assault.

Officers have been at a house in Godinton Road, Ashford, since the early hours of today.

Forensics teams were also called in and have been gathering evidence throughout the day.

A police spokesman confirmed a 35-year-old woman had been detained.

He added: "Kent Police officers are carrying out enquiries at a property in Godinton Road, Ashford, as part of an ongoing investigation into a suspected assault.

"A woman has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in custody."

Police have been at the house since 2am.
