A woman was arrested after police were called to a hotel being used to house asylum seekers.
Officers were called to the scene in Kennington, Ashford, at 4.42pm yesterday over concerns for a person's welfare.
The woman was arrested but later released without charge.
It is not known if she was staying at the hotel.
The hotel in question, which KentOnline is choosing not to name, has been booked out to house asylum seekers who have arrived in the county after travelling across the Channel since November.
The decision, made without consultation by the Home Office, left Ashford Borough Council furious and the authority accused the government of showing "a complete disregard for us and the local community".
Council leader Gerry Clarkson (Con) added that the "situation cannot continue".
The Home Office says it recognises the use of hotels is "unacceptable", however, they will continue to be used as a short-term solution.
