Folkestone woman charged after four police vehicles attend Lidl in New Street, Ashford

A woman has been charged following an incident which sparked a large police response at a town centre Lidl.

Three police cars and a van were parked at the entrance to the supermarket in New Street, Ashford, shortly after 11.40am on Wednesday (May 15).

At least eight officers were at the scene after receiving a report a woman was damaging cars near Gilbert Road.

Rhiannon Thomas, of Ashley Avenue, Folkestone, has since been charged with being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

The 36-year-old has been bailed and is due to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on May 30.
