Woman suffered smoke inhalation in house fire in Essella Road, Ashford

A woman was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation after a house fire in Ashford.

Crews were called to Essella Road at 7.40pm yesterday.

They tackled the blaze on the ground floor wearing breathing apparatus with a hose reel jet and positive pressure ventilation fans.

A woman in the house was taken to hospital by ambulance after suffering from the effects of breathing in smoke.

Firefighters were at the scene until 9.30pm.
