Residents turned out in the early hours to try and help a lorry driver who had got stuck in mud in their road.
The foreign-registered TIR took a wrong turning and ended up well and truly wedged at the end of a cul-de-sac.
People living in Damara Way, Bridgefield, Kingsnorth, tried to help free it until 1.30am today by putting wood under the wheels to no avail.
A cab from the same lorry firm, Waberer’s International, arrived to try and tow it out but the wheel spin only made the vehicle sink deeper.

The lorry arrived at around 5pm yesterday and was not due to be moved until tomorrow.
One of those who witnessed the rescue attempts was Damara Way resident Laura Morgan 20, who lives with her boyfriend, Arron Pitchers.
“We think the lorry either took a wrong turning or came up here thinking it could turn round and got stuck in mud and grass at the end of the road by the footpath,” she said.
“People came out to try and help it get out by using bits of wood and gravel under the wheels until about 1.30am but it was completely stuck.
“The driver was revving the engine so it kept us awake. Another cab from the same firm arrived and tried to pull it out but couldn’t so they just left it.”
The lorry was not blocking anyone in.
The driver, who said he was Hungarian and did not speak English, was in the cab this afternoon when he said he would be there until the following day.
It is thought that he may have been trying to find somewhere to stop overnight as the lorry park was full.
