YO! Sushi coming to Ashford Designer Outlet as part of £90 million expansion

A popular Japanese restaurant chain is to open in a shopping centre undergoing a £90 million expansion.

YO! Sushi - which offers the Japanese food on a conveyor belt - will open at the Ashford Designer Outlet on Monday, May 13.

It will form part of the centre's £90m extension, which is adding 50 new shops to the site.

Job posts on the company's website are currently advertising front of house and kitchen porter positions in "Ashford Village" - with the attached postcode directing applicants to the MacArthurGlen-owned complex.

The sushi chain already has two stores in the county in Canterbury and Bluewater.

McDonald's, which was expected to open a 200-seat franchise in the updated food hall, confirmed it would not be returning to the Ashford Designer Outlet when the extension opens.

Included in the upgrade plans is an interactive £400,000 children's play area - which will open next month - and a 'living wall' that will stretch the length of 60 double-decker buses, which will make it the largest in Europe.

On Thursday, coffee and sandwich chain Pret a Manger will open at the centre in thee new 'food piazza'.

On the same day, Zwilling - one of the largest manufacturers of kitchen knives, cookware and flatware - will open its doors.

It will be followed by the arrival of fashion brand Paul Costelloe on Thursday, May 16.

The Irish-American designer brand will offer womenswear, menswear, bags and jewellery.
