A young woman will stand trial over the death of a cyclist in a crash.
Ayasha Penfold, 20, is accused of killing John Durey on the A2070 in Kingsnorth, near Ashford, on May 31.
Mr Durey was taking part in an organised cycle event and was heading towards Ashford at 7.20pm when he suffered serious injuries in a crash.
Penfold, of King Street, Brenzett, appeared at Canterbury Crown Court today, where she pleaded not guilty to causing death by dangerous driving.
Mr Durey, 69, from Lenham, was taken to King's College Hospital in London with multiple injuries and put into an induced coma. He died five days later in hospital.
He was described by son Oliver as an “inspirational father who was always extremely patient and nurturing”.
Penfold will return to the same court on April 30 for her trial, which is expected to last four days.
