A multi-storey car park which has seen anti-social behaviour despite the coronavirus lockdown has been shut.
The Edinburgh Road car park, owned and operated by Ashford Borough Council, was sealed off yesterday following reporting by KentOnline.
Residents were angry after youths chucked bricks, cones and even a bike from the top of the facility.
The culprits allegedly caused disruption at least four times a week, prompting police call outs and extra patrols in the area.
However the council has now confirmed the site has been shut for an indefinite period.
A spokesman said: "The Edinburgh Road car park has been closed for security reasons."
One of the nearby residents who experienced the youths' actions has already noted a difference.
Ollie Hilton, said: "I’ve heard nothing since so it’s definitely made a change - I had a peaceful sleep."
The council's move comes despite police promising extra patrols in the area following the disturbances.
