A man has been arrested after armed police were spotted in a residential street – with neighbours told to stay in their homes.
More than 10 officers and police dog teams were called to Sheldwich Close, Ashford, this afternoon
Residents said the dead-end road in Stanhope had been blocked by police.
A man has since been taken into custody, having been arrested for offences including making threats to kill.
A spokesman for police said: “Kent Police officers attended Sheldwich Close, Ashford on the afternoon of Wednesday, February 21.
“A 27-year-old man from Ashford was arrested on suspicion of offences including making threats to kill, relating to an investigation into an incident in Dover on Sunday, February 18.
“Armed officers also attended as a precaution following concerns a weapon may have been present at the address.
“The man has been taken into custody and enquiries at the address are ongoing.”
On Saturday, six armed officers raided a home in Godinton Road, Ashford, following reports of threats being made.
Three men were arrested at the scene, but they were all later released without charge.
