A teenager, who was only recently disqualified from driving, has been arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit.
Police in Ashford stopped a Vauxhall Astra in Lakemean, Singleton just after 3pm yesterday and discovered a quantity of drugs in the car.
Following a drugs test, an 18-year-old man, from Luton in Bedfordshire, was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink/drugs, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.
He has been bailed until February 16 2024.
Officers posted on X, formerly Twitter, about the incident: “Ashford beat team stopped this travelling through our Victoria Ward into Singleton in possession of cannabis & @DrugWipeUK indicated driving under the influence.
“He had only received a driving disqualification earlier this week. Arrested for multiple offences and car seized.”
