Ashford & District Saturday League clubs have voted unanimously to operate only one division this season following the withdrawal of AFC Ashford Athletic.
The resolution, proposed by Lydd Utd, went through at last week’s Special General Meeting, with results of all matches played so far standing and being incorporated into a new league table.
The League Cup continues in a two group format, as already drawn, with clubs playing each other on a round-robin basis. The winners and runners-up, progress to the knock-out stages.
The only change to the original format is that teams will only play each other once, not home and away as proposed following the SGM in August. The results of any ties played to date also stand.
Secretary Geoff Wickens said: "This means that clubs will have 22 league fixtures plus at least five in the League Cup over a 34-week season. The fixture secretary will endeavour to assist those clubs that have entered "outside" competitions by releasing them when required but clubs should give warning of all commitments as early as possible."
