by Tim Collins and Samantha Williams
A young Nepalase man has appeared in court over a knife attack in Ashford town centre that left two teenagers seriously injured.
Hitendru Limbu, 21, of Quantock Drive, Ashford, is charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon.
Limbu appeared at Canterbury Magistrates' Court today and was remanded in custody until a hearing at Canterbury Crown Court on Thursday, April 25.
Kent Police said a second man, also aged 21, has been released without charge.
The alleged victims - Ashley Curtis, 18, and 19-year-old Charlie Carolan-Knight, were taken to hospital with "serious" wounds after being injured in Bank Street early on Tuesday.
Mr Curtis was due to undergo reconstructive surgery.
Shocked pedestrians were greeted by police tape cordoning off areas of the High Street and Bank Street - and blood stains on one wall - after a brawl broke out at about 3.40am.
