A young man suffered bleeding on his brain after a horrific nightclub attack.

The 27-year-old victim was one of two men from Ashford who were assaulted during a night out in Brighton.

He was kept in hospital for three days after first being taken to a local hospital and then transferred to Ashford’s William Harvey.

The other man, aged 24, received minor cuts to his face.

Det Con Andy Beaumont, of Brighton CID, said: “These assaults were particularly nasty, causing an extremely serious injury to one of the men.”

Police said his injury was serious but not life threatening.

The incident happened at the Oceana nightclub in West Street at about 12.30am on Sunday, March 21.

Sussex Police have appealed for witnesses and anyone with information should contact them on 0845 60 70 999.
