Man treated for burns after shed fire in Ashford

A man in his 50s was treated for minor burns following a shed fire in Ashford.

Firefighters were called to a property in Watery Lane, Westwell, just before noon yesterday where they found the shed well alight.

Crews treated the man's burns by running them under cool water for 20 minutes before advising him to visit A&E as a precaution.

The fire in a disused pig shed was brought under control with Kent Fire and Rescue leaving the site at 1.45pm.

There were no other injuries reported and the cause is believed to have been a bonfire which spread to the outbuilding.
