Ashford skipper Pete Walsh has issued a rallying cry to his squad ahead of their final Kent 1 game of the year at local rivals Cranbrook on Saturday.
Walsh will be fit to lead the side, despite being forced off at half-time in the 40-0 defeat at Sittingbourne at the weekend – victim of an accidental head-butt by a team-mate.
He said: "We are going there looking for a win and my message to the boys is – ‘we went undefeated after Christmas this year, let’s do it again in 2010’."
Ashford make changes this weekend with twin brothers Adam and Ben Knight returning to the fray after recovering from tonsilitis.
Rhys Fussell, back from university, comes in on the right wing, Dave Ward on the left, with second team captain Kevin Gayson at inside centre.
Walsh is enjoying leading the side in his first year as captain but admitted: "It hasn’t been easy but I always try and lead by example.
"We all need to stay positive and look to finish the year on a high."
"I couldn’t fault the lads’ effort at Sittingbourne. They played with great heart and determination and we had three
or four good chances to score in the first half."
