A rising star from Ashford is on her way to the 02 Arena in
London singing a solo spot backed by a chorus of 4,000.

Emily Ware, 15, from Charlton Close in Willesborough, is taking
part in one of the largest concerts ever held in the nation’s
capital.

On January 28 she will perform part of Reach Out I’ll Be There
by the Four Tops in front of an audience of more than 20,000
people.

The North School pupil, who is preparing for her GCSEs, said:
“It feels amazing to have the chance to perform in front of so many
people, it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity.

“I don’t get nervous any more. I’ve done this so much that I
just want to go out there and enjoy it.

“I started singing when I was five and then got into dancing.
I’ve been singing ever since.”

The Voice in a Million concert will be the first in a series
worldwide organised by the British Association for Adoption and
Fostering.

It plans to record one million children’s voices in harmony to
help raise awareness of the millions of orphaned and abandoned
children who need a new family.
