Ashford Town's Ryman League Division 1 South torment continued with a 2-1 defeat to Walton & Hersham at Homelands on Saturday.
The opening goal arrived inside three minutes when Town keeper Scott Chalmers-Stevens' attempt to clear rebounded off Martin Grant and trickled into the net.
Tom Murphy went close to an equaliser before the visitors extended their lead on 33 minutes when Grant was played through, rounded Chalmers-Stevens and slotted the ball home.
Town battled back after the break and Laurence Harvey pulled a goal back when he headed in Matt Newman's free-kick shortly after the hour but despite late pressure, the visitors held on.
