Ashford Town Football Club boss Steve Lovell is targeting a win double from two successive home games to rectify the club’s poor start to the season.
The Nuts and Bolts are sitting bottom of Ryman League, Division 1 South without a win from their opening five league games.
Lovell’s side welcome Whyteleafe to Homelands on Saturday and then face Whitstable on Wednesday.
He said: "The next two games are important and if we can get two wins under our belts then that will lift us and push our season forward. That’s what we’re aiming for.
"There is still a long way to go and we have no fears this year, we just need one win and then we’ll take off."
Lovell (pictured) is confident Paul Jones will be fit for the Whyteleafe clash after the striker pulled out of last weekend’s 2-0 FA Cup defeat at Leatherhead with a groin injury.
Leatherhead won the game with two late goals and Lovell was seething at the way his side were dumped out of the competition.
He said: "If we had been beaten fair and square then I would hold my hands up but for the first goal the ball was out of play by at least a foot.
"Then after that we were denied a penalty and they went straight down the other end and smashed the ball into the top corner.
"That was one of the most blatant decisions for or against that I’ve seen (for the penalty) and it wasn’t given.
"At the end of the game I went to talk to him (the referee) and told him how I felt."
Striker Mark Lovell is close to returning after over a year out with a cruciate ligament injury.
