Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault on a cleaner in Kennington on New Year’s Day.
A 46-year-old woman was walking home from work in the town centre when she noticed a man was following her along Canterbury Road at 4.30am.
When she reached Grasmere Road, the man grabbed her from behind. She managed to escape from his grip and he apologised.
The woman was not injured but was very shocked by the attack.
The man was aged 25 to 30 and was wearing a grey hooded top, white T-shirt with writing on and grey tracksuit bottoms with stripes down the legs.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to call the police on 01303 289453.
