Lisa Dobriskey has been named in Great Britain’s team for the World Championships in South Korea.
The 27-year-old from Ashford, silver medallist in the 1,500m in Berlin two years ago, won her first race of an injury-hit season in the London Grand Prix at Crystal Palace on Saturday, beating her great rival and friend Hannah England.
England had won in a one-two finish between the pair at the Aviva Trials and UK Championships in Birmingham the previous week.
Dobriskey (pictured) and England are in the squad for the championships, which begin in Daegu on August 27. Speaking afterwards to the BBC website, Dobriskey said: "I would be silly to go there and not aim for a medal. I am working hard and think it will come."
She revealed last week she will have injections to cure a long-standing back problem and has had to overcome the death of her agent David Welch last month.
