Attempted robbery at Stanhope Mini Market in Ashford

Police are appealing for information about an attempted robbery at a shop in Ashford in which a man threatened a shop assistant with a knife.

Police were called to the Stanhope Mini Market , in Speldhurst Close, on Wednesday at 9.45pm.

It was reported that the man had entered the shop carrying a large kitchen knife and demanded that the shop worker emptied the till.

The shop assistant refused and the man left the shop empty handed.

The man has been described as wearing a dark blue jacket with a large hood over his head, grey jogging bottoms and had a black scarf around his face.
