Balloons released in memory of tragic teenager Alison King

Two thousand balloons flooded into the sky above a school in memory of Ashford teenager Alison King, who died earlier this year.

The balloon release at Homewood School, Tenterden, was organised by Alison’s friend and Homewood student Alice Trice, and raised money for CLIC Sargent, who supported 17-year-old Alison and her family through her battle with cancer.

Alice, a Year 13 student at the school, said: “CLIC Sargent is an amazing charity.

“When Alison was alive CLIC Sargent gave her and her family 100 per cent support and guidance all the way.

“I felt it was my turn to help CLIC Sargent and other families.”

Alison’s parents, Karen and Shaun King, caretaker at Linden Grove School in Stanhope, were also present.
