Police have taken action against an unruly teenager in an attempt to tackle his anti-social behaviour in Stanhope and the surrounding areas.
The Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) has been imposed on Cameron McLachlan, above, of Arlington, South Ashford, after police received numerous complaints from residents.
The order was imposed on the 15-year-old when he appeared before magistrates in Folkestone last week to be dealt with for an offence of criminal damage.
The ASBO covers an area bounded by St Stephen’s Walk, Kingsnorth Road, Millbank Road, Speldhurst Close, Stanhope Road and Cuckoo Lane.
Under it the teenager, pictured left, is prohibited from being in possession of stones, eggs or snowballs, entering Stanhope Library and riding a bike or motorised bike.
He has also been banned from entering or loitering outside two shops – McColl’s in Stanhope Road, Stanhope and the Co-op in Brookfield Court, South Ashford.
Insp Vicki Tyler of Ashford police said: “We sought the ASBO following numerous reports to the police by the residents of Stanhope about Cameron’s anti-social behaviour."
The ASBO will run for a year and any breaches can be reported to Kent Police on 101.
