A biker has been airlifted to hospital following a crash this morning.

It happened on the A20 Maidstone Road in Ashford and involved a car and a motorbike.

The London-bound side of the A20 was closed between Orchard Heights and Sandyhurst Lane as a result of the collision.

Paramedics, police and the air ambulance attended the incident at 5.40am.

“Ambulance crews attended and were joined at the scene by the Kent, Surrey, Sussex air ambulance service,” a spokesman for ambulance said.

“One patient was assessed before being airlifted to hospital in London.”

The road has since reopened.
