A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after a crash blocked an A-road.

Pictures show the bike laid on its side in the middle of the A20 close to the Blue and White Cafe in Smeeth, near Ashford.

Police and the ambulance service attended the scene at about 10.30am.

Officers helped to direct traffic and the road has now been cleared.

The motorcyclist was taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford and the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
