Firefighters were called out when it was feared a van had burst into flames on a dual carriageway.

But it was found that its engine had blown, which gave off smoke but no actual fire.

It happened on the A2070 Bad Munstereifel Road, Ashford, just after 2.15pm today .

A fire crew made the scene safe and traffic was able to continue flowing.
