A driver was arrested after a BMW crashed into a roundabout and continued driving with sparks flying from a wheel.
Police say they stopped the estate in Forge Lane in Ashford, outside Mission Church during patrols in the early hours of Saturday.
It comes as four separate arrests were made for drink and drug driving in the town the same night.
At about 2.15am, officers were in Forge Lane when they saw a van driving on a pavement which then came to a stop.
On searching the vehicle they found a quantity of class B drugs, a 38-year-old man was reported for summons for possessing a class B drug.
A short while later officers then stopped the BMW.
Following a short pursuit, the vehicle came to a stop and a man was arrested.
Ben Gilchrist, 36, of no fixed address was later charged with driving while unfit through drink, driving a motor vehicle when alcohol levels were above the limit, and driving a motor vehicle dangerously.
He is due to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on May 3.
Speaking on X, formerly Twitter, police said: “We have arrested four separate drivers for drink and drug driving offences.
“This driver collided with a roundabout and continued driving with a sparking wheel.
“Thankfully no-one injured.”
