An investigation is continuing today to identify a man found dead on the railway line in Ashford.
British Transport Police are investigating the circumstances of his death after he was found lying across the electric traction current in the Godinton Park area yesterday.
Officers, who are treating the case as "unexplained", are preparing a report for the coroner.
They were called at just before 8.20am, along with Kent Police, fire and ambulance crews.
A BTP spokesman said: "Officers were called to the line near Godinton Park in Ashford at 8.19am on Sunday following a report of a body on the tracks.
"Officers from BTP and Kent Police alongside colleagues from the South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Kent Fire and Rescue Service attended the incident, and the body of a man was discovered.
"Enquiries are continuing to establish the identity of the man and the circumstances leading up to his death.
"The incident is currently being treated as unexplained. A file will be prepared for the coroner."
