Ashford Boots store closed as emergency services called to town centre

A person is in a serious condition in hospital after collapsing at a Boots store.

Three ambulances, a critical care vehicle and police were called to the shop in Ashford high street at about 2pm.

Paramedics arrived and crews treated the person who was then taken to William Harvey Hospital in a serious condition.

Shoppers were asked to leave the store and staff could be seen manning the door.

One of the ambulances was parked at the junction with North Street.

Police say they attended the incident to assist ambulance crews.
