He lit up Britain’s Got Talent with his flashing guitar – and now Martin Matcham is about light up a town centre.
The semi-finalist of the hit television show has been invited to help switch on Ashford’s Christmas lights on Saturday, November 21.
Martin, who works for Kent Auto Panels in Folkestone, has been invited to play a leading role in the Ashford festive family fun day and light switch on, which organisers say will contain an extra special ingredient.
The town centre that day will also host an X-Mas Factor - with a set of live auditions in readiness for Ashford’s Got Talent 2010, but you must register to take part.
'Guitar hero’ Martin will give a performance as darkness descends and will then join comedian Dave Lee from the Marlowe Panto, Peter Pan, the Mayor and Mayoress, Cllr and Mrs John Holland, and a special child of courage nominated by the Padua Ward at the William Harvey Hospital to light up Ashford.
The fun day starts at 11am with the light switch on ceremony from 4pm.
So, if you can sing like a songbird or dance like a dervish, then register with the Ashford Town Centre Partnership to take part in the live auditions for Ashford’s Got Talent 2010 by telephoning 01233 664410 or sending an email to info@ashfordtcp.co.uk
